How far would you go to be a Viking warrior... if you were a girl?

Katarina is a young girl with ambition. After growing up playing with most of the other boys and learning the skills it takes to become a Viking warrior, she must leave it all behind to "be a woman." But that doesn't stop her from changing the course of her life and finding another way around the laws of the land.

In Scandinavia, it is only the boys and men who are allowed to become warriors, but who is to say that a woman can't "pretend" to be one? What the rest of her people fail to notice is that Katarn is not only one of the best warriors but is actually a woman!

Adult Novels

A Civil Affair Cover.jpg

The American Civil War – a divided nation, economic battlefield, and a way of life torn asunder. Yet two young adults follow a path to stay grounded to their Southern beliefs, their hearts brought together in a common bond of survival. In this tumultuous tale of the destruction of a way of life and the value of the hard-working man, Madeline McCall and William Hutchinson find solace in each other. Can their love and their core ideals be saved as our nation and their families fight to survive?

On principle alone, Madeline cares more for the longevity of her family’s bookstore, three generations old, than the unrest at the government office in Frankfort, Kentucky. Even though her younger brother, Austin, is slated to take over the bookstore, his beliefs become more politically driven, pushing Madeline to learn more about the business than just the books on the shelves. When he joins the newly formed Confederate Army, all thoughts of books and politics are put aside as her family waits on bated breath for letters from the front-line.

As the next in line to inherit an expansive wheat plantation’s fortune, William knows his place has always been by his father’s side but they never quite see eye-to-eye on the politics of the business. His sister, Grace-Ann, has been studying to be a nurse at one of the most prestigious universities in New York. It is through his sister’s letters that William realizes the true impact secession has not only on the survival of his family’s plantation, but also on his Southern family values.

Madeline and William are uniquely set as the narrators of the novel and reveal what REALLY happened in the South during one of the most enigmatic and often misconstrued times in American History.

Please Speak Easy Cover.jpg

At the turn of the century in America, women had their place in society. They were seldom seen and never heard. As it happened, there was a turning point when liquor was banned, gangsters ruledthe streets, and women hiked up their skirts in defiance of their old ways. In this adaptation of a topsy-turvy society, it is one woman’s belief that she can prove everyone wrong by becoming an entrepreneur, pioneering the way for women all across the county.

The year is 1918 and the country is starting to flutter with the stirrings of revolution. Mae Baker, a woman of determination and self-worth, calls upon the strength of her mother to launch a newbusiness venture: a sophisticated gentlemen’s club on the wharf of the Gold Coast of Chicago, Illinois. On her twisted path toward Prohibition, she will be greeted by many different faces: from Caleb, who is constantly dodging the law, to Erika, who is suffering from the law’s infringement on her rights to be a woman. Mae will learn the true meaning of liberation and freedom, but will understand the price for taking the law in her own hands.

Please, Speak Easy shows American Prohibition at its very core. From sassy burlesque nightclubs to the gentlemen’s club Mae wishes to run; from the “dirty cops” to the bootleggers they allow to smuggle the booze; from the illegalization of distilleries and liquor consumption to the rise of gangster control of rum running operations, this novel portrays each component of our country’s societal revolution.

Blackthorn and Ivy Cover.jpg

When Veronica Serfling first moved to Lower Manhattan five years ago, from her small town of Danvers, Massachusetts, it was a whole new adjustment. She had to learn how to navigate narrow one-way city streets, deal with daily traffic, and adjust to new noises and funky smells. She truly felt like a country mouse, small and insignificant, in the fast-paced world she worked in.

As a twenty-seven year old, living alone, she longed for a sense of community and fellowship. As a modern witch, she grew up celebrating every season, taking part in festivals and gatherings in her home town. There were no other witches in the big city, no one else to commune with. So, her life slowly succumbed to the monotony of the office and her Pagan life faded away. Nothing prepared her, though, for the discovery that changed her life.

When visions of a past life interfere with her work productivity, she’s compelled to research what they all mean, what message they’re trying to tell her. In an instant, her life is turned upside down as the visions connect her both spiritually and ancestrally to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Now, she has to save two young girls by exposing the truth of their lives, before their spirits are locked on the other side of the veil eternally.
